Power King

How Power King works

Power King reads compatible power stations and batteries over Bluetooth and shows what they are doing: charge, power in and out, solar, every cell, history and health. It only reads: it never changes a setting.

Getting started

  1. Turn your power station or battery on and keep your phone within a few metres of it.
  2. Close the unit maker's app: most units allow one Bluetooth connection at a time.
  3. Open Power King. Units it can read appear under “Nearby”: tap yours.
  4. Some units ask for a one-time sign-in with the account from their own app. Power King keeps only the ID that comes back, never your password.

Which units work?

If Power King recognises your unit, it appears under “Nearby”. Battery boards marked “Beta” are new to Power King: tell us how they do. No unit yet? Open the app and tap “Try the demo”.

What you see

  • Overview
    Charge, power in and out, time left, temperatures, and a health check in plain words.
  • Cells
    Every cell's voltage side by side, a warning when one is far from the others, and a check that finds a weak cell by how it behaves under load.
  • Tests
    A guided load test and a full capacity test.
  • History
    Energy in and out by day, your solar panels against their rating, and battery health over the months.
  • All data
    Every value the unit reports, to copy and share.

While you do other things

Units you open stay connected with the screen off or the app closed; a notification shows it, with a Stop button. Alerts tell you about low or full charge, power cuts, and hot or weak cells, and a home-screen widget shows each unit's charge.

Reports

A health report for each unit, in your phone's language, to share or save as a PDF.

Questions

Can Power King change my unit's settings?
No. It only reads, and has no way to send a setting.
Does it need the internet?
No, except for the one-time sign-in some units need, the ad when the app opens, and a daily check for a new version.
Is my data uploaded?
No. Readings, history and reports stay on your phone.
How do I update?
The app tells you when a new version is out. Download it from this website and install it over the old one: your units and history stay.
