Who we are

Power King is an app that reads power stations and batteries over Bluetooth. Questions about privacy: PowerKingApp@proton.me.

What stays on your phone

The app reads your units over Bluetooth: charge, power, voltages, temperatures, cell voltages and similar figures. These readings, the history and test results built from them, your reports, unit names and settings stay on your phone, in the app's private storage. Power King has no servers and receives none of it. The app also leaves its data out of Android backups and device transfers.

Bluetooth and location

Bluetooth is used only to find and read your units. On Android 12 and newer, the app does not ask for location. Android 11 and older require the location permission for any Bluetooth scan; the app does not use your location.

Optional sign-in for some units

Some power stations only talk to their owner. For those, you can sign in once with the account from your power station's own app. Your email and password are sent once, over an encrypted connection, only to that maker's account service, to look up the account's user ID. Power King keeps only that ID, encrypted on your phone, and never stores your password. You can also type the ID yourself, and remove it at any time.

Ads

The free app shows ads from Google AdMob. Google's ads software collects and shares, for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention: your IP address (which gives an approximate location), app interactions such as launches and ad taps, diagnostic information, and device identifiers such as the advertising ID. Where the law requires it, such as in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent form asks for your choice first, and Ad privacy choices on the app's About page lets you change it. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android's settings. Google explains its practices at https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Checking for updates

Once a day, the app asks Power King's website whether a newer version is out. The request carries nothing about you or your units. As with any web request, the website's host, Cloudflare, sees your phone's IP address. You can turn the check off on the About page.

What you choose to share

When you share a report or copy the data, the app hands it to the app you pick; what happens next is up to that app.

No analytics, no selling

Power King has no analytics, crash reporting or tracking of its own, and never sells data.

Children

Power King is not directed to children under 13.

Deleting your data

Everything Power King keeps is on your phone. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in Android's settings, deletes all of it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
